Apartment owners often make their own furniture designs or assemble them. In this work, they have no one to help, therefore, it is necessary, while performing certain operations, to simultaneously hold parts and process them. Those who have ever performed such operations will confirm that this is a very complicated procedure, because you need to spend a lot of time and effort to fix the details. To solve such complex problems, an angular clamp was created for the assembly of furniture, which will simplify the task, playing the role of a "third hand".

What is a

The tool is used to fasten the elements of furniture design. It does not require tremendous effort. To temporarily fix the elements of furniture structures, use a clamp to assemble furniture. Its essence is not in form, but in the functions that it performs. A clamp is a tool that fixes furniture parts that are perpendicular to each other.

A device that fixes parts at a certain angle is called an angular clamp.

The product has a wide variety of options. A typical device has a simple and compact furniture clip, fixing parts at an angle of 90 degrees:

What materials are made

In industrial conditions, the tool is made of duralumin and alloys from it. For the manufacture of the house, various materials are used: iron, duralumin, wood. Most often this is hardwood:

hornbeam;
beech;
larch.

These types of wood restore shape well, differ in elasticity and strength. They are harder than the parts from which the furniture is made. Therefore, this is offset by the use of:

heels made of wood;
skin
felt;
light rubber.

Frames are made of metal, wood. Corner corners or pipes suitable for this are carefully peeled and painted so that there are no scratches or traces of rust on the product. To exclude mechanical damage, it is better to stick wood strips on the metal structures.

For optimal smoothness of adjustment when tightening wooden elements, the stud should be with a trapezoidal or straight profile thread. The handle can be made of wood or, having made a hole in the hairpin, insert a rod in it in the form of a lever. Such a clamp will be durable and will last a long time.

Clamps facilitate the work process. They are used for furniture requiring angular fixation. The device supports the workpiece. The rules for its use are extremely simple:

the angle of the device should correspond to 90 degrees;
when the handle is rotated, the heels holding the part begin to shrink, fixing it;
its rotation in the opposite direction unclenches the heels;
the device fixes the parts to drill them together;
for the convenience of performing certain work, the clamp vise is fixed to the workbench.

How to do it yourself

Ready-made tools are sometimes not suitable for some work, so craftsmen make them with their own hands. First you need to prepare pieces of chipboard or plywood with a smooth surface.

You can make the device in the form of a triangle or rectangle so that there is one right angle:

on both sides of the corner, stepping back three or five centimeters from the top, it is necessary to fasten the bars with the help of screws;
I lay the prepared segments on a flat surface and press firmly with ordinary clamps;
to release access to the joint, it is better to cut off the protruding top of the corner.

The next step is to make a clamp clamp. The following parts need to be prepared: three nuts, a long stud or bolt, a handle, a bracket:

for the base, the triangular shape will become optimal;
the stud protrudes beyond the edges of the base in a state of complete compression, without a part;
a bisector is drawn from a corner;
a nut with a bolt is fixed with a bracket at a distance of ten, twenty millimeters from the intersection of the bisector with the hypotenuse;
make a metal bracket, bending it in the shape of a nut;
holes are drilled at the edges of the hypotenuse;
the bolt is guided by the head at the top of the right angle;
a handle is attached to the opposite side of the bolt.

Such a tool can be made of wood, iron, aluminum, plastic.

When working with sheets for furniture, you need to prepare:

plywood with a thickness of 8 to 12 mm, it is possible chipboard;
drill;
jigsaw and hacksaw;
rectangular or square wooden block.

We cut out several triangles with right angles, the legs of which are equal in length and should be 25-40 cm. Depending on the size of the device, simple clamps are made in the corners of the triangle. The distance should be 10-15 cm from the legs to the holes. On the hypotenuse, make two holes and fasten the sheets. The device is ready.

It is better to make more than one tool to assemble the entire structure. Making them is not difficult, financially it is more profitable than buying ready-made ones, since this is not a universal tool. It is not suitable for all furniture assembly work. A self-made device can be made for any job.
